“I’m not sure what the Mustang options mean – who can I talk to?”

“I’ve never ordered an American car before – Can you reassure me?”

We will do our best to put you at ease, and keep you informed through every step of the process.

“How long will the process take?”

We can usually deliver a car within 8 weeks of you placing the order, however if you want a particular specification that isn’t readily available we can get Ford to manufacture one for you BUT this will take around around 14-16 weeks from order to delivery.

“I want to go through the process of importing my own car – will you help?”

We will gladly recommend a trustworthy shipper who will be able to import your car for you. We can also offer you our tried and tested SVA conversion at very reasonable rates, but by the time you’ve paid out for purchase, shipping, VAT, duty, SVA conversion, SVA test, Warranty and registration you will be so close to our asking price that you may as well buy from us and let us do all of the hard-graft for you

“What is the SVA, and who does it?”

The SVA conversion is carried out by ourselves to the highest standards, and then the car is tested at one of the VOSA testing stations to ensure it fully complies with UK lighting and safety regulations SVA stands for ‘Single Vehicle Approval’ and is used by the government when cars are individually imported or manufactured.

“Once I’ve bought a Mustang who will I get to service it?”

We have full workshop facilities to look after every age of Mustang. If you are not local to us we will be pleased to recommend an American Car Specialist in your area.

“Is there a warranty with your new cars?”

Unfortunately Ford will not honour their own new car warranty on Mustangs as they have been taken out of their ‘local environment’. We do, however, offer a comprehensive one year warranty with every new car, and this can be increased to two years for an additional fee.

“Can I get my local Ford dealer to look after my car?”

Ford dealer will be able to change the oil and filters, but his diagnostic equipment (EOBD) will not converse with the on-board diagnostics fitted to Mustangs (OBD II).

“I need my car to go faster and handle – can you help?”

At SurreyMustang we can draw on our massive experience of building and developing successful American engined racing cars. We will talk through your requirements with you and then suggest a package that we think will suit your requirements and driving style. We know that not everyone has the same opinion as to what makes a car better, so we’d rather tailor our conversions to the individual than have ‘ready made’ kit’s that may not suit.

“I’ve got an older Mustang, but I find that new car dealers aren’t interested.
What’s your view?”

We are. We’re enthusiasts and not hard-core dealers. We understand that your Mustang – whatever its age – is your pride and joy. We will offer the same service and commitment to your car no matter what
it’s age or how much you’re spending.

“So I have my car in for you to work on it. I suppose I have to talk to some slick receptionist every time I phone up about it?”

Not at all. The person you speak to will be the person who is carrying out the work. At the time of leaving your car with us you will be given the mobile phone number of the technician (and we mean a qualified City & Guilds Technician) who will be working on your car so that you can contact him directly at any time.

“You sound too good to be true. What’s the catch?”

There isn’t one! We genuinely believe in the marque and the service we offer for it. We’ve spent enough time in the mainstream motor industry that we know all of the scams that go on with sales, parts and servicing, and quite honestly we want no part of that. It’s more important to have happy customers who will return time after time and recommend our services.
